CapU had the bulk of possession but couldn't capitalize and were stuck at 0-0 at halftime. Fourth-year forward Catrina Olstrom, with her eighth career goal, put the Blues up 1-0 but Douglas took advantage on a couple of sloppy moments by the Blues and struck in quick succession to take a 2-1 lead.
Throwing all they had left at the Royals, CapU earned a corner kick in the 80th minute and when the original delivery rebounded back to former Royal Andrea Perrotta, she crossed it again, saw it punched away by the Royals keeper and onto the left foot of Campbell who unleashed a wicked blast that found the top of the net to tie the score.
There would be a chance for the Blues to take the lead in the dying moments but they were unable to convert and settled for the draw.
CapU's next game is at home on Saturday, Sept. 25 with the Langara College Falcons paying a visit to Lillooet Park in a 1 p.m. start.
