Capilano University’s Department of Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce the hiring of Germain Rauguth as Athletic Therapist to work with all Blues teams.
Rauguth’s most recent work was at Concordia University in Montreal where he spent the 2019-20 season working in athletic therapy with the Stingers men’s and women’s varsity teams.
He graduated from Concordia’s athletic therapy program in 2020 and added a graduate diploma in business administration from the university in 2021.
“It’s my goal to have all the athletes I work with in peak health so they can perform to their potential on the court and on the field,” said Rauguth. “In my work so far, I’ve always enjoyed working with varsity athletes in a university setting so I’m looking forward to getting to know the Blues athletes and coaches this season.”
Rauguth worked at Montreal’s Lower Canada College in 2017-18 where he was a student athletic therapist for the school’s hockey, soccer, basketball, track and field and football teams. He also worked at Concordia University’s PERFORM Centre prior to his work with Stingers athletics.
“We are thrilled to have someone of Germain’s qualifications and background join our team at this point in the season,” said Blues Athletics Director Milt Williams. “Germain will be a huge asset for all our teams and I know our athletes and coaches will benefit greatly from his work.”
A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Rauguth speaks five languages including Spanish, English, Portuguese, French and German. He officially begins work with Blues athletics on Nov. 24, 2021.
