Ida Jonsson Ojala and Tyrone Asenoguan earn Blues Athlete of the Week honours as chosen by the CapU Department of Athletics & Recreation after dominant performances on the hardcourt.
Ida Jonsson-Ojala
Ida Jonsson-Ojala is the Capilano University Blues women’s basketball Athlete of the Week. The 6-foot-2 Swedish import helped the Blues to a pair of big PACWEST victories by scoring 31 points and grabbing 27 rebounds. Playing just her second and third games with the Blues, Jonsson-Ojala started both games and played big minutes each night. Her work on the glass in the fourth quarter and overtime of Saturday’s win against Douglas was key as she grabbed 13 of her 16 rebounds in crunch time. The native of Norrköpping shot 58 percent from the field on the weekend and added three blocks and two assists.
The PACWEST also announced Jonsson-Ojala as the women's basketball Athlete of the Week following Week 10 of the 2022 regular season.

Tyrone Asenoguan
Tyrone Asenoguan is the Capilano University Blues men’s basketball Athlete of the Week. The Vancouver-Kitsilano product led the Blues in scoring both nights, lifting his team to a pair of wins. Asenoguan went for 19 points in a Friday road win at CBC and followed that with a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds in a home victory against Douglas. The 6-foot-3 slasher shot 52 percent from the field on the weekend, pulled down 17 rebounds, had seven steals and handed out six assists in the back-to-back victories. Asenoguan leads the Blues with 15.4 points per game on the season
