Due to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the PACWEST Executive Board has decided there will be no spectators at all remaining PACWEST matches until further notice.
The PACWEST and Capilano University are committed to keeping student-athletes, coaches, officials and game day staff healthy and safe at each and every game. By keeping spectators away for now, it will give all teams the best chance to continue to compete.
The PACWEST had hoped that during the second semester of competition fans would be able to attend and enjoy matches, cheering on their favourite teams. It is hoped spectators can return at a later date.
“Safety remains our priority and the decision was made in the best interest of our student-athletes, coaches, officials and supporters. This decision was not an easy one, but it does allow our games and matches to continue and our student-athletes to compete at a high level,” the PACWEST Executive Board stated in a release.
All PACWEST matches will continue to be streamed live on PACWEST TV for fans to enjoy from the comfort and safety of their homes. Blues home games will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel.
