Aiming to enter the holiday break on a high note, the Capilano Blues men's volleyball team fired up the offence in a big way Friday night scoring a convincing 3-1 win over the visiting Vancouver Island University (VIU) Mariners.
Blues coaches tallied 18 kills each for veteran outside hitter Rafael Hilario and rookie Jesse Lee while Jacob Hopkins racked up 10.
Setter Jenson Yuen ran the offence smoothly though his assists total was not available post-game.
Hopkins spoke after the game and noted the positive feeling of having the attack working to its potential will keep the team motivated over the long holiday break (audio below).
The Blues (4-2) are next in action Jan. 7 and 8, 2022 with a road trip to College of the Rockies. The next home game for CapU is Saturday, Jan. 15 with Columbia Bible College paying a visit for an 8 p.m. match.
