Brent Mutis, CapU Sport Information & Compliance Officer
The CapU Department of Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce the hiring of Lesley Cambridge as our new Active Health Programmer.
A native of Victoria, B.C., Lesley comes to CapU after four years at the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence (PISE) where she held the role of Physical Literacy Supervisor.
At CapU, Lesley takes over for the recently departed Ali Funk and will direct the department’s rec programs from drop-in activities to virtual classes. She will continue the development of CapU Rec in meeting the needs of the campus community.
“I’m looking forward to putting my skills and experience into practice in my role here at CapU,” said Cambridge. “As we continue adjusting back to campus life, I want to ensure we keep wellness as a focus through our rec programs and listen to our students, staff and faculty as we explore new offerings in the future.”
Lesley’s educational background includes a degree in recreation and health education from the University of Victoria. She holds multiple National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) coaching certifications and has a great deal of experience working in physical education for youth.
“We are excited for Lesley to continue the development of wellness programs and initiatives to engage our students and staff in leading a healthy and active lifestyle at CapU,” said Daniel Levangie, CapU’s Associate Vice President of Student Success.
CapU Rec programs start Monday, Sept. 20 with cricket in the Centre for Sport and Wellness (CSW) from 12 to 1:30 p.m.
