In her final game, Courtney Muller got the last word.
The graduating fourth-year outside hitter put away the final kill Saturday afternoon in a Blues upset win over the nationally No. 5-ranked Camosun College Chargers.
Muller put the finishing touch on a four-set Blues win in what may have been the team's best effort of the season. Capilano started strong, as they have done repeatedly this season in the first set, getting three kills apiece in the opening frame from Muller, Sibby Bos and Nnya Mbaoma. Setter Lauren Roworth continued her season-long dominance from the service line with three aces in the first set.
Camosun evened things up in the second despite six more kills from Mbaoma. Unlike other matches this season however, CapU set themselves up for success with a win in the third frame.
The best set of the night was the fourth as the home side got out to a lead, leaning on lefty outside hitter Grace Brisebois, but Camosun rallied to within one late at 24-23 before Muller buried the last point of the day.
It turns out to be the last point of the season as well as the Blues finish at 4-16 in the PACWEST, in fifth place out of the running for the postseason which this year features just four teams.

On Friday night, for the fifth time on the season, Capilano took the opening set only go down in defeat. Roworth opened the night with four consecutive points on serve, including three aces, helping the Blues go up one set to none.
Erica Bolink wound up being the story of the night for the Chargers, using her big right arm to pick up 12 kills and four aces. Camosun prevented CapU from getting to 20 points in each of the second, third and fourth sets.
The PACWEST provincial championships are next weekend at College of the Rockies in Cranbrook, B.C. The CCAA women's national championship is March 8 to 11, hosted by Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo, B.C.
