Coming off a 1-0 loss Saturday at Douglas College, the Capilano Blues (1-2-1) struck for a season-high four goals in a 4-1 victory Sunday afternoon over visiting Langara College.
Mya Fraser opened the scoring, her second of the season and another header, in the 28th minute and Jacqueline Reinhard got the game-winning goal shortly after for her first-ever tally in Blues colours.
CapU removed all doubt as to the outcome early in the second half when captain Ada Babinski executed a tidy steal and deposited the ball behind the Langara keeper. It was Babinski's first goal since the 2019 campaign as her season was limited a year ago due to injury.
Goalkeeper Megan Thitchener was forced into action late in the second half after a heavy collision between starting keeper Sabrina Lam and Falcons attacker Lola Hopper.
Sunday's game was played, as all Blues 2022 home games will be, at Mulgrave School in West Vancouver.
On Saturday, CapU started well at Douglas College by controlling play for much of the first half but couldn't find the back of the net. Douglas ended up with the only goal of the game on their way to their second win of the season.
The PACWEST schedule has the Blues at home Saturday and Sunday next weekend (Sept. 24 and 25) with a 1:30 kickoff both days. Douglas College pays a visit for the Saturday game with Vancouver Island University making the voyage over on Sunday.
