Colby Soolsma and Ida Jonsson Ojala earn Athlete of the Week honours.
Colby Soolsma is the Capilano University Blues men’s Athlete of the Week.
The first-year outside hitter hit double-digits in kills on both nights as the Blues split their weekend set against visiting VIU.
The North Vancouver native registered 12 kills Friday as CapU upended No. 11 ranked VIU while racking up a team, and season, high eight aces. The 6-foot-5 Soolsma followed that up with 10 more kills Saturday while registering four digs and a solo block.

Ida Jonsson-Ojala is the Capilano University Blues women’s Athlete of the Week.
The 6-foot-2 forward led the Blues in scoring both games in a weekend sweep on the road at Camosun. Jonsson Ojala scored 13 points, pulled down 17 boards in Friday’s six-point victory, and followed up with 18 points and five rebounds in a convincing win.
For the weekend, the import from Sweden was 11-for-16 from the floor (68.7 percent), and added six assists and two blocks while also going 9-for-10 from the free-throw line.
