The most difficult part of the game, scoring goals, hasn't really been a problem for Blues men's soccer to this point in the season but keeping the ball out of their own net has proven a challenge.
CapU (0-3-1) dropped a pair of weekend games with Douglas College claiming a 3-2 win Saturday and Langara College winning 5-2 on Sunday in the Blues home opener.
Sunday's outcome may have been different as the Blues were awarded a penalty kick early on with Langara leading 1-0 but Adrian Sahagun couldn't convert, sending the ball just wide of the post. The Falcons went on to build a 3-0 lead before Capilano got goals from Adam Majuerae - his second of the PACWEST season - and Luca Martinelli with his first-ever goal for the Blues to get within one but Langara wouldn't concede again.
The Falcons got second-half goals from Athos Michellepis de Siqueira and Taku Ota, each with their second of the game, to put it out of reach.
On Saturday, the Blues got goals from Sahagun, his second of the year, and the first-ever Blues goal from Chase Doucette in the one-goal loss at Douglas.
Next up for Capilano is a pair of weekend home games starting with a Saturday, Sept. 24 home date rematch against Douglas and Sunday, Sept. 25 game with Vancouver Island University paying a visit. Kickoff is 3:45 p.m. both games at Mulgrave School.
