Vanesa Gatto and Jenson Yuen earn Athlete of the Week honours.
Vanesa Gatto is the Capilano University Blues women’s Athlete of the Week.
Gatto started at outside hitter instead of her usual libero spot in both games last weekend for the Blues and helped the team to its best showing of the season.
The fourth-year native of Coquitlam chalked up 14 kills in Friday’s five-set defeat to COTR while adding two aces. On Saturday, she reached double digits again with 10 kills and had a block and an ace as CapU bounced back with a win two split the set against visiting COTR.

Jenson Yuen is the Capilano University Blues men’s Athlete of the Week.
The 5-foot-11 setter totalled 76 assists over the weekend and CapU split against the visiting COTR Avalanche.
Yuen had 36 assists in Friday’s five-set win and managed to top that in four sets the next day with 40 assists in a four-set defeat. The Vancouver native also had four kills each night and picked up two solo blocks on Saturday.
