A pair of back-to-back double-double recording forwards earn Athletes of the Week recognition with three weeks remaining before playoffs.
Maddy Coffin is the Capilano University Blues women's Athlete of the Week.
The 5-foot-11 forward compiled 42 points and 22 rebounds as the Blues sustained a pair of defeats to Langara.
In Friday’s game, Coffin went for 17 and 11 with three blocks as Langara held on for a six-point win.
Following up on Saturday, Coffin scored 25 with 11 boards while swiping three steals. The North Vancouver’s back-to-back double-doubles were her second and third such games of the season.
Damein Coleman is the Capilano University Blues men’s Athlete of the Week.
The 6-foot-6 forward recorded back-to-back double-doubles as the Blues split a home weekend with visiting Langara.
In a narrow loss Friday that came down to the final possession, Coleman came off the bench to provide 10 points and 10 rebounds with four blocks in 28 minutes of work.
Capilano won comfortably on Saturday, with Coleman scoring 12 points and 10 boards. For the weekend, Coleman’s 20 rebounds led the Blues and he also went 4-of-5 from three-point range.
