A difficult weekend on the PACWEST pitch resulted in a pair of losses for the Capilano Blues at the hands of the Langara College Falcons.
Langara came out on top of a 2-1 score Saturday and blanked the Blues 3-0 at CapU's Lillooet Park on Sunday.

In Saturday's game at the Falcons' 2023 home pitch at Willoughby Park in Langley, the teams were scoreless well into the second half when Capilano's Andrew Cerqueira put away a rebound for his first goal in a Blues uniform to make it 1-0. The goal was the result of some good work by Hami Mai Mokhtari who froze the Falcons defender before playing it to Sebastian Cirotto whose shot was stopped but Cerqueira was in position to bury it.
Not long after the Cerqueira goal, Langara was awarded a pair of penalty kicks less than five minutes apart and David Rodriguez Zegarra took full advantage, scoring on both attempts to give his team the lead for good.
On Sunday on CapU campus at Lillooet Park, it was Rodriguez Zegarra again doing the damage as he blasted a left-footed drive home in the 13th minute to give the Falcons an early lead. It proved to be all the scoring they'd need but he'd get his fourth of the weekend in the second half to put the game out of reach.
After a break for Thanksgiving, CapU is back on the pitch Oct. 14 and 15 at Vancouver Island University.
Next home games for the Blues are Oct. 21 at 3:30 p.m. against Douglas College and the regular-season finale Oct. 22 at 2:30 p.m. against Langara.
