CapU's women's side finished first in the four-team PACWEST standings and had the maximum number of nominees. Head coaches around the PACWEST submitted votes and after the results were tallied, four Blues women were included.
Alanah Dulong - Finishing an outstanding five-year career in style, Dulong led the PACWEST in goals with eight in 12 games while helping the Blues to top spot in the regular season. Dulong wore a captain's arm band for the first time in her career this season and was nothing short of phenomenal for Capilano, setting the tone for the team.
Julia Peyton - Another Blues captain this season, Peyton was as dependable as ever on the back line an anchored a defensive unit that recorded four clean-sheet wins. Peyton took care of almost every Blues corner and free kick. She scored a goal and added four assists this season.
Aynsley Hurtado - Also capping a fine five-year career this season, Hurtado was authoritative on possession over the campaign and helped the Blues get organized in midfield. Despite missing two games to injury, she set a new career-high with three goals.
Maya Smith - The Blues tenacious midfielder was hard to handle for the opposition this season as she fought for position all over the park. Her aggressive style helped the Blues drive the ball up the field while her playmaking and finishing generated a significant portion of Capilano's attack this year.
On the men's side, it was a vastly improved year for the Blues after a winless campaign in 2022. While finishing just outside the playoffs, the Blues are headed in the right direction and proved a tough opponent in the PACWEST in 2023. A pair of first-year Blues were included in the PACWEST All-Star team.
Tommy Millar - The Blues captain transferred to Capilano this year and immediately assumed an important role in the Blues formation. Millar took on all challengers in the middle of the park for the Blues and handled the bulk of corners and free kicks. Millar wore the captain's arm band this season and will be a key for Capilano in the future.
Brandon Lecce - In his first season at the collegiate level, Lecce caught the notice of players and coaches around the PACWEST with his dynamic shot-stopping capability. The North Vancouver native turned in several highlight-reel saves and gave his team a chance to win each time out.
In addition to the two All-Star recipients, the Blues men's team was awarded the PACWEST's Mike Bartram Fair Play Award, as voted by head coaches around the league.
