A setter and an outside hitter combining for 19 K, 48 Ast, 13 Dig, 5 Ace and 4.5 Blk earn Athlete of the Week honours.
Jayden Easingwood is the Capilano University Blues women’s Athlete of the Week.
Easingwood played just one of the two matches as the Blues rested some starters in the second game of the weekend.
Despite that, the 6-foot setter posted a season-high 47 assists in Friday’s 3-1 win at COTR while picking up seven digs. She also got in on five blocks, totalling 2.5 for the night. Easingwood made herself a weapon at times, registering three kills while also picking up an ace.
Brendan Zebrynski is the Capilano University Blues men’s Athlete of the Week.
The 6-foot-2 outside hitter had an outstanding weekend at COTR, helping the Blues knock off the No. 1-ranked team in the country on Friday. Zebrynski totalled 17 kills for the weekend and served up four aces.
In Friday’s upset win, Zebrynski scored eight kills and three aces.
On Saturday, it was nine kills plus another ace. As good as he was on offence, he was more impressive on serve receive where he made just three errors on 45 chances on first touch and assisted on three blocks for the weekend.
