In addition to excelling on the playing field this past season, eight Capilano Blues student-athletes were recognized by the conference for excellence in the classroom.
The PACWEST announced their annual Academic Excellence Awards on Wednesday, and eight Blues scholar-athletes received the prestigious honour. First introduced in 1992-93, the award recognizes student-athletes who have achieved Honours Standing or equivalent at their institution over their last 27 credits, in addition to meeting sport-specific criteria.
“The student-athletes who have achieved excellence in both athletics and academics are role models for the youth of today and destined to excel in their future careers,” said CapU Manager of Athletics, Milt Williams. “Blues Athletics at Capilano University is proud to recognize and celebrate those student-athletes who’ve attained the highest possible PACWEST honour in their pursuit of academic and athletic excellence.”

The eight recipients are the second-most among the 10 member institutions in the PACWEST.
