Kirsten Abo and Owen Genge earn Athlete of the Week honours.
Kirsten Abo is the Capilano University Blues women’s Athlete of the Week.
The fourth-year point guard went off for a career-best 40 points Friday in an 85-75 overtime win that gave CapU the season series over VIU. She was 7-of-10 from three-point range and also added five rebounds and two steals. With a tight turnaround to Saturday afternoon, Abo didn’t have as much success shooting the ball but contributed six assists, five rebounds and two steals.
Abo’s 40 on Friday were the most points scored by a PACWEST basketball player this season, male or female.

The rookie libero helped hold the Columbia Bible College Bearcats to just 5 aces in a 3-2 win on Saturday. He also tallied 19 digs and took 45 receptions over the weekend series.
